Intended Audience – Gender, Race, Age, Class
The gender most suited for Daily star would be both female and male. This is because the daily star includes News about football and includes pictures of ‘sports babes, celeb babes’ Etc. which can be appealing to a vast majority of men. Females would read the daily star as well because it talks about the celebrities and the recent gossip. The celebrities found in the newspaper are mainly male because females are then most likely to read it. The race is not an issue to who reads it. The Daily star reading age would be ages 18- 30 for females and males. This is because the daily star includes pictures that are not appropriate for people under the age of 18 and this would certainly not be aimed to be read at children because the reading/ writing would be difficult for them to understand and also because of the pictures.
It would most likely be the lower class background that usually look at the price and see the price as important. The daily star has put the price at the very top left hand of the page because they believe that the price would persuade people to buy their newspaper. They have also put the price number size bigger than their actual Newspaper name and have mentioned the price yet again on the right hand top corner. (Z reading, repeated price) which explains how the daily mail think the important of the price.
Current news values
Negativity – Mentions a lot of negativity involving celebrities. They include inappropriate languages for young ages for example the title below uses the word ‘Bitch’. They also tend to Use Capital Words all the time to over exaggerate the headline story. The Daily star also tends to use big black fonts and white background for their headlines most of the times so that they can make it look like it’s formal and important to read about.
Conflict – The exaggeration that the Daily Star makes about the celebrities may create conflict to the readers and the celebs themselves. This is because the story about the celebs may be entirely false and the readers may have a different opinion on them from what they did before. They may choose to dislike them because of the story they read about them.

Typical story
Ownership – who or what owns the paper and how do they affect the ‘Prioritisation’ of the news reported
Richard Clive Desmond (born 8 December 1951) is an English publisher and businessman. In November 2000, Northern & Shell acquired Express Newspapers from United News & Media for £125m which enlarged the group to include the Daily and Sunday Express titles, the Daily Star and Daily Star Sunday which Desmond himself started.
The Daily and Sunday Express each sold around 700,000 copies per issue. The Daily Star is currently the only national paper to put on sales year on year with an 18% increase (September 2008 – September 2009) and circulation figures of around 850,000, largely due to aggressive pricing policies which significantly undercut competitors such as The Sun.
